Digital Media Kit – How To Create One For Your Event

You worked hard to plan your event, and you need help getting the word out there. You can create a simple digital media kit to send to speakers, volunteers, employees, etc.
Let’s get started!
Once you have your event up and running on your website and/or Eventbrite, you are now ready to create social media and emails to spread the word. Write up a little social media and email blurb for speakers or volunteers to share on their social media or email. Think of an email you would like to receive to help promote an event and how easily you would like it written up for you. That is how they would want it.
DO’s
- Do consider the character limits on certain social media platforms (Twitter)
- Do keep it simple and to the point
- Do let them know they can add a personalized message to it if they like
DON’Ts
- Don’t ask them to tag a bunch of people or places. Just have them tag your company and provide them with your social media handle
- Don’t send them just a PDF. You need a JPEG or PNG to post on social media.
- Don’t expect them to find the event page link on their own. Send them the link.
Examples
Here is an example of a media kit created for a past event
Social Media – Facebook/ LinkedIn – Tag- @WIVetsChamber
Ladies, we have done the training, served overseas, led troops, broken gender barriers and glass ceilings. But we all know that in both professional and personal relationships, women can struggle to find and use our voice.
Join me and @wivetschamber as we talk about professional boldness, meet other women, build our networks, and awaken your inner warrior to lead yourself forward. All women are welcome. #hashtags

Email Example
Join me on Tuesday, June 25th at 6pm for Women Veterans in Action – Professional Boldness: Find and Use your Voice
I will be leading a panel discussion along with other women veterans to discuss the topic of empowerment. We’ll address this from a woman veteran’s perspective and apply it to entrepreneurs (who have to be their own boss and negotiate their own contracts), women on corporate career paths (who have boardroom battles), and in our personal lives.
Remember to share this event within your network of friends and coworkers. You never know who could benefit from hearing about this event.
All women are welcome, no prior military service required.
See you there!
